Actor Greg Germann has been cast as a character named "The Distinguished Gentleman" for season 5B of Once Upon a Time, according to a new TVLine report.
The casting call for the part referred to the character as "a mysterious figure with god-like powers who is always clad in a perfectly tailored suit," a figure who "knows how to strike fear into people just by being friendly.... He's the last person you ever want to share a drink with."

Curious fans have been putting some pieces together, guessing that this character might actually turn out to be Hades, the infamous villain of the Underworld from Greek mythology. After all, as TVLine points out, OUAT co-creator Edward Kitsis has referred to the second half of the season as "hell." Additionally, there have been some casting calls that may or may not point to Hercules and Megara being introduced.
Hades, who was voiced by James Woods in the 1997 animated film Hercules, seems to fit with the description of The Distinguished Gentleman. He is depicted as persuasive in the film and certainly has "god-like powers." Only time will tell if The Distinguished Gentleman does end up being Hades, but it seems like he will make for a fun yet menacing addition to the cast.
Once Upon a Time airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
