Agents of SHIELD's Blair Underwood is not surprised at Lash's murderous behavior.

'Agents Of SHIELD' Season 3: 'Hawaii Five-0' Mark Dacascos Joins Cast, Whose Side Is He On?

Andrew Garner (Underwood) has spent season 3 playing SHIELD's ally, but thanks to baby von Strucker, May (Ming-Na Wen) now knows the truth. Her ex-husband is an Inhuman, and he has the blood of his own people on his hands.

But why?

'Agents Of SHIELD' Season 3: Alien Monster Theory Roundup: Best Clues & Ideas From The Cast & Fans

It is currently unknown how Lash is selecting his victims - "Chaos Theory" will undoubtedly shed light on this matter - but Underwood has hinted that the monster's behavior could be linked to Garner's role on Coulson's (Clark Gregg) team.

"If you look at his work as a psychologist...in S.H.I.E.L.D., he determines [who] is worthy and is not worthy to be part of the Secret Warriors team that he's to create with Coulson," Underwood explained to E! Online. "So, it makes sense that it's kind of that same kind of rationale, but on steroids: Who's worthy and who's not? And what are they worthy of? Are they worthy of life? Are they worthy of death? Are they worthy of the team? Or are they not worthy of anything?"

So far, however, Daisy (Chloe Bennet) is the only Inhuman Lash has spared. But has anyone else really had a chance to prove themselves?

Find out more when May confronts Garner this Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET on ABC (see a sneak peek below).
