Episode by episode, it is becoming increasingly evident that Jane Doe's abductor/tattoo artist is hell bent for leather on exposing the government's dirty deeds. While viewers were hoping that the Operation Daylight reveal would tie a nice bow around the mystery man's intentions, it turns out that exposing Mayfair's big secret isn't his endgame.
"I think [the team is] not so slowly realizing that whoever did this to her really wants to right some wrongs - some big, some small," series creator Martin Gero told TV Guide. "And they certainly are very interested in Daylight, but it's interesting because a lot of the other things they're taking on head-on. They seem to be coming at Daylight sideways, which is interesting. It should give everyone involved a little bit of pause."
Gero then emphasized that Daylight is not the unifying piece of the puzzle.
