Fans have been eagerly awaiting news about the upcoming second season of ABC's hit mystery thriller anthology series Secrets and Lies, but it appears they may now need to wait just a little bit longer before they get to watch the show's new episodes.

Has The Season 2 Premiere Date For 'Secrets & Lies' Been Revealed?

After the wild success the show met during its 10-week run last spring, ABC quickly renewed it for a second season featuring Juliette Lewis' Detective Cornell investigating a new murder mystery. The new cast features several big names as well, including Michael Ealy as the prime murder suspect, Jordana Brewster as the murder victim, and a slew of supporting characters including Mekia Cox, Charlie Barnett, Kenny Johnson, Terry O'Quinn and AnnaLynne McCord.

The show was originally scheduled to run during the midseason break in Nashville's usual time slot of 10 p.m. on Wednesday nights. However, the schedule has since been amended to put the second season of the network's other anthology crime series, American Crime, in the slot instead, beginning January 6.

It is also currently not featured on the schedule at all for the midseason, and though American Crime is expected to run only through March, Nashville is likely slated to return at that time and continue airing in its usual spot-meaning there may no longer be a home for Secrets and Lies.

If that is the case, the show may wind up being pushed back to later in the Spring if another series doesn't pan out, or could be delayed until the summer, though nothing has been confirmed.
