'The Real Housewives Of Potomac' 2016: Andy Cohen Talks 'RHOP,' 'Real Housewives Of Dallas' [VIDEO]
Real Housewives creator Andy Cohen spoke out about the series' new cities earlier today.
During a new interview, Cohen compared the new shows, The Real Housewives of Dallas and The Real Housewives of Potomac, to early installments of the franchise.
"Both Dallas and Potomac remind me of really early Orange County and New York. It reminds me of early Housewives," Cohen revealed to Bravo TV on Thursday. "It's the way they communicate. It's about how they live their lives, and it's about families. It's very grounded, and it just harkens back to early Housewives for me. Both of them. It's really interesting."
When Will 'The Real Housewives Of Dallas' Debut On Bravo?
Speaking of Dallas, a series which has been rumored since 2012, Cohen admitted it was a long time coming.
"We've been tinkering around with Dallas for, I want to say seven years we've been thinking about this. We cast there. We cast in Houston. We didn't get it right in either place," he explained. "And then this casting happened, I want to say, maybe a year ago. I don't even know. We thought this could be good."
As for The Real Housewives of Potomac, Cohen acknowleged the town wasn't exactly the most notable of all cities.
"It means so much to the women that live there, and they have such a clear sense of what it is and what it means and what the rules are and what it's like," Cohen said. "And I love these women. They're very affluent. They have strong ties to the community. They're very into etiquette."
The Real Housewives of Potomac premieres on Jan. 17 at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
