The fall finale of Fox's Bones will feature the team investigating the murder of a police officer, and one character will face a big loss.

Why Isn't 'Bones' On Fox's Midseason Schedule?

Fox has released a plot description for the midseason finale of Bones, which will be a special two-hour event. The episodes, which air Dec. 10 back to back, will feature some intense personal moments for pretty much all of the main characters.

The synopsis is as follows:

'Bones' Team Worried About NSA Spying On Them?

"To solve a murder, Brennan [Emily Deschanel] and Booth [David Boreanaz] go undercover at an Old West-style shooting competition, while Angela [Michaela Conlin] and Hodgins [TJ Thyne] discuss the future of their family and Cam [Tamara Taylor] gets close with photographer Sebastian Kohl (guest star Gil Darnell).

"Then, the team investigates the murder of a police officer that sends shockwaves through both the Jeffersonian and FBI teams. Behavioral analyst Leslie Green (guest star Sara Rue) is assigned to work with Booth on the investigation and lends her professional assessments on who the cop killer could be, while Cam must make some decisions in her personal life and the entire team re-evaluates what is truly important to them."

Will the mention of a cop being killed, will it be someone we actually know, or a loved one of someone we know? TVLine recently reported on one of of the series regulars facing "a heartbreaking, unimaginable loss" in the second half of the finale. Could this have something to do with Cam? Only time will tell, though it is a bit concerning that Pej Vahdat, a.k.a. Arastoo, is listed as a guest star in this episode.

Bones airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
