The former agent/Director of Hydra is a slippery fellow, and Coulson has had just about enough of his shenanigans. After two seasons of hunting Ward, recent failures by Hunter, May, and Bobbi have placed Phil on the warpath.
As the "Closure" promo revealed, Coulson is ready to take matters into his own hands.
"A lot of people have taken on Ward and have tried to solve that problem and we're getting to a point where Hunter, May and Bobbi have been sent out," executive producer Jed Whedon teased, according to TV Insider. "Coulson's beginning to feel like it's time to take matters into his own hands, especially considering the increased threat of the new Hydra with Ward and the old Hydra with Mallick coming together. In a way he's sick of delegating and wants to solve the problem once and for all."
