In the future, Alex has 12 hours to find the Grand Central bomber before she is locked behind bars. If the FBI agent wasn't under enough pressure as it were, the terrorists will turn up the heat to pressure cooker levels as another bomb threatens to rip a hole in the Big Apple.

"Well, they've recently been on Team Alex in both an emotional and a professional capacity, and I just think that in this episode, they will still obviously be on Team Alex in a professional capacity because they know she's innocent, but they are definitely no longer Team Alex in an emotional one," showrunner Josh Safran told Entertainment Weekly. Previously, "the plan was Simon, and Simon has turned his back on her and is now indisposed, and she has nowhere to turn."

When the midseason finale comes to a close, not only will season 1A be over, but Safran likes to think that season 1B will read more like a sophomore run. Answers, after all, have been coming fast and furious, putting Quantico in stark contrast to many highly serialized dramas.

"The midseason finale is a game changer for the show, and I know people say that all the time, but it really is for this one," Safran added. "And more than that, I think the audience will be surprised at how far we get."
