Rashad Jennings looks to be one step closer to joining ABC's Dancing With the Stars next season.

The New York Giants running back told TMZ this week that he has been in contact with Dancing with the Stars and may be close to finalizing a deal.
"We've had conversation, I think it's going to end up happening," Jennings said, of a DWTS deal. "We're gonna hold off a couple more days 'cause I'm gonna have a conversation shortly."

Jennings had expressed interest in competing on the show in late November.
"I would love to do it. I kind of plan on doing it when the time is right," he told TMZ at the time. "I'm kind of focused on football right now."
As longtime Dancing With the Stars fans know, athletes have done very well for themselves on the dance competition, particularly NFL players. Players who have won Dancing With the Stars in the past include Donald Driver, Emmitt Smith and Hines Ward. Others that have done well in the competition include Jerry Rice, Warren Sapp and Jason Taylor.
Very little has been confirmed thus far regarding season 22 of Dancing With the Stars, considering season 21 just ended a few weeks ago. Len Goodman will be returning to the judges table alongside Carrie Ann Inaba, Julianne Hough and Bruno Tonioli - after sitting out of season 21 to be with family in England.
Dancing With the Stars returns for a new season on Monday, March 21 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
