Doctor Who isn't cutting back for season 10.

The series' lower ratings raised red flags for fans during season 9, but the BBC and showrunner Steven Moffat aren't fazed. Despite rumors, the Twelfth Doctor (Peter Capaldi) will be back for a full season.

"We're making a full series. I can confirm that. I'm making a full series of 12 episodes, plus a Christmas special," Moffat informed The Radio Times. "It's not being reduced in size. We're not making fewer episodes. That's all complete bunk. I can confirm that absolutely."

Unfortunately, Moffat couldn't dish on a potential release date. It appears production won't start until late spring, a move that means the TARDIS won't materialize until late in 2016.

"I don't know when it goes out," Moffat explained. "That's up to someone else. And even if I did know - which I genuinely don't - I wouldn't be allowed to say so as I have absolutely no say in it whatsoever."

Don't worry, though! Whovians still have the 2015 Christmas Special to look forward to. With River Song poised to return, there will be plenty of snark to tide fans over during the long hiatus.
