Fox's Bones is airing its midseason finale tonight starting at 8/7c, and it's a game-changer.

Everything is about to change on Bones by the end of the two-hour midseason finale tonight. Bones show runner Michael Peterson teased as much in a new interview with TVGuide.com.

The Stars Of 'Bones' Align With Producers In Epic Lawsuit Against Fox

"This is the episode that changes everything," he said. "It's the fulcrum point of our season, and everything will change. It's a pivotal episode. At one point, it was going to be our season opener. It originally was our way of getting Booth [David Boreanaz] and Brennan [Emily Deschanel] back into the story, what happens to Aubrey [John Boyd] early on."

Behavior analyst Leslie Green (guest star Sarah Rue) will step in on the new case after a bomb goes off, temporarily sidelining Aubrey. Leslie will get into some conflict with Booth.

Why 'Bones' Midseason Finale May Be The End For 'Buck & Wanda'

"She's a bit scatterbrained in her personal life, but she's very good at what she does," Peterson said. "She plays a pivotal role, not only in this case, but in Episode 13, we're going to be introducing our new serial killer. She is going to be instrumental in that one."

With news of the bomb spreading, Arastoo (Pej Vahdat) returns to make sure Cam (Tamara Taylor) is okay.

"Arastoo knows Cam so intimately, he can watch the news and know that Cam would have been involved. Meanwhile, Sebastian doesn't even equate that she's in danger quite as quickly. That's proof of how much closer one relationship is than the other," Peterson said.

Bones airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
