'The Blacklist' NBC: Jon Bokekamp Spills On Season 4 Renewal! How Much Story Is Left?

As the titular character of episode 13, Shalhoub's villain will step up in the wake of Red (James Spader) and Liz's (Megan Boone) showdown with the Director. Described as a master negotiator, Entertainment Weekly reports that the Blacklister will use "his quick wit and dramatic flair to manipulate his targets into accepting his business proposals, no matter how outlandish they are."

Mr. Tate won't be the episode's only episode 13 initiate, however. Red will get a visit from an old flame, although it is unknown if the two storylines will intersect. Named Catherine, the woman will be in her 30s or 40s and is described by TV Line as a beautiful, exotic and sophisticated" old flame from "the not-too-distant past." While Catherine once had eyes for Red, she will have exchanged vows with someone else.

The Blacklist will return to NBC on Jan. 7 at 9 p.m. ET.
