The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) made the announcement on Thursday, announcing that Uzo Aduba (who plays Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren on the series) was nominated too--also for the second year in a row.
The series is up against Hulu's Casual, Amazon Video's Mozart in the Jungle, HBO's Silicon Valley, Amazon Video's Transparent and HBO's Veep. Meanwhile, Aduba is competing against Joanne Froggatt of PBS's Downton Abbey, Regina King of ABC's American Crime, Judith Light in Transparent and Maura Tierney in Showtime's The Affair in the Supporting Actress category.

Orange Is the New Black was also nominated at the SAG (Screen Actors Guild) Awards this week. The cast was nominated in the Outstanding Comedy Ensemble category, alongside CBS's The Big Bang Theory, Comedy Central's Key & Peele, ABC's Modern Family, Transparent and Veep. The OITNB cast won the category last year.
Aduba is nominated in the Outstanding Female Comedy Actor category, which she won last year. This year she is up against Edie Falco of Showtime's Nurse Jackie, Ellie Kemper of Netflix's Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Julia Louis-Dreyfus of Veep and Amy Poehler of NBC's Parks and Recreation.
Finally, at the NAACP Image Awards, the show received four nominations. The first was in Outstanding Comedy Series, where it will compete against ABC's black-ish, Showtime's House of Lies, Key & Peele and Starz's Survivor's Remorse.
Aduba received a nomination in the Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series category, with Gina Rodriguez of The CW's Jane the Virgin, Loretta Devine of NBC's The Carmichael Show, Tracee Ellis Ross of black-ish and Wendy Raquel Robinson of BET's The Game.
In the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series category, the show received two nominations. One was for Danielle Brooks, who plays Taystee Jefferson, and the other was for Laverne Cox, who plays Sophia Burset. They are competing against Anna Deavere Smith of Nurse Jackie, Marsai Martin of black-ish and Tichina Arnold of Survivor's Remorse.
All of this acclaim is good buzz for Orange Is the New Black as it enters its fourth season next year. It remains to be seen if the show notches up any key wins.
