Fans of the AMC's hit show The Walking Dead are eagerly awaiting the show's Feb. 10 return from a mid-season hiatus.

Given the style of the show, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that more deaths are reportedly coming in the remainder of Season three, according to one of its producers, Gail Ann Hurd, who spoke to E! Online.

"There are a lot of humans in serious jeopardy. There's a lot of betrayal. There's a little love. There's a lot of zombie action. And then we get to say goodbye sadly to a few more people," she revealed.

When Hurd was questioned on whether any main characters would be killed off or not, she opted to remain discreet.

"I can't tell you that. It is a zombie apocalypse so..."

The mid-season finale of the program ended with brothers Merle (Michael Rooker) and Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) circled by an angry town of Woodbury residents along with The Governor (David Morrissey), who accused his one-time henchman Merle of committing treason.

Show runner Glen Mazzara had spoken to Entertainment Weekly on Monday in regards to the tension and conflicting position Daryl is currently in the midst of.

"Daryl has spent the last year with Rick and this group, and he has worked very hard to wrestle his past demons and to become a very, very valuable member of Rick's band," he said.

"Rick's mental state is very fragile at a time when the group needs him to be on his A-game. And he's emotionally compromised," Mazzara said. "His sanity is questioned and this becomes a major personal crisis not only for Rick, but for his entire group."

A new group of survivors led by Tyrese (Chad Coleman) are also now living in the group's prison location.

The Walking Dead is set to return this Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on the AMC network.
