ABC Family/Freeform's adaptation of Cassandra Clare's wildly popular novels will premiere on Jan. 12, but for those outside the states, Netflix will become home to the nephilim of New York City.

Unlike every other Netflix acquisition, however, Deadline reports that Shadowhunters will not be available for binge watching. Each episode will go up one day after it airs in the United States.

Shadowhunters will kick off it's 13 episode run with "The Mortal Cup." Following the adventures of 18-year-old Clary Fray as she realizes her role in supernatural underground full of strange friends and deadly enemies. Check out the episode summary below!

"Now thrown into the world of demon hunting after her mother is kidnapped, Clary must rely on the mysterious Jace and his fellow Shadowhunters Isabelle and Alec to navigate this new dark world. With her best friend Simon in tow, Clary must now live among faeries, warlocks, vampires and werewolves to find answers that could help her find her mother,' ABC Family/Freeform teased. "Nothing is as it seems, including her close family friend Luke who knows more than he is letting on, as well as the enigmatic warlock Magnus Bane who could hold the key to unlocking Clary's past."
