'Starter Wives' Liz Morales & Lamar Odom's Daughter Destiny Will Get Professional Support
The daughter of NBA star Lamar Odom and reality star Liz Morales, who reportedly tweeted that she is suffering from depression and that she tried to cut herself, is getting the professional help that she needs.
Morales, a star on TLC's newest reality show Starter Wives Confidential, has shared that she is getting her daughter, Destiny Odom, the help she needs and denied reports that she has cut herself.
"This matter has been addressed with our daughter. We have a professional on board to evaluate the situation; Destiny is not hurting herself but we are not taking this lightly," Morales told Radar Online.
Morales said she is taking care of the issue because her "children have always and will always be (her) top priority in life."
Morales said her family would appreciate the privacy they need at this sensitive time over the heartbreaking matter.
"With the added pressures of Hollywood and the instant attention of social media, it's not always easy for a teenager to express their emotions in the best way," said Morales. "This is a private family matter, and we would appreciate respect and privacy during this time."
Radar Online reported that Destiny is suffering from depression and admitted on Twitter that she has low self-esteem and has tried to cut herself.
According to the report, Destiny tweeted on Jan. 27: "I feel as If I am drowning in my own emotions, and I have no home to save me."
When one of her followers asked when was the last time she caused harm to herself and how many times she has done it, she replied, "tonight and I don't count."
Destiny's Twitter account has since been suspended.
According to a report, the teen is depressed because her mother has not been able to spend as much time with her - she has been busy filming Starter Wives and would like to spend time with her father, who is based in California because he plays for the Los Angeles Clippers.
"Her dad wasn't around much when she was growing up," a source reportedly told Star magazine.
Reality star Khloe Kardashian- who married Lamar in 2009- has vowed to become more involved in her stepdaughter's life due to the personal problems she is experiencing.
