They are two of the series' most disparate characters, but both teens will embark on their own, presumably separate, adventures in season 3.

"Murphy plays a huge role this season. One of my favorite arcs ever. [Richard Harmon] is his usual brilliant self," series creator Jason Rothenberg teased on Christmas.

Monty, meanwhile, will also play a "huge" role this season.

"[Christopher Larkin] is CRUSHING it! I'm so excited for you to see what he can do," Rothenberg told fans.

After the events of "Blood Must Have Blood: Part 2," it's no surprise that John and Monty will dive deeper into the fray this winter. Plagued by violence, Murphy appeared to turn over a new leaf as season 2 came to an end, breaking away from Jaha as the former chancellor sacrificed innocents in his quest for the city of light. Monty, on the other hand, became a shocking accomplice to mass murder as he helped irradiate Mount Weather. Both will undoubtedly be faced with the consequences of their actions when "Wanheda: Part 1" opens.
