As she continues trying to figure out what changed Chad's (Billy Flynn) mind about being involved with her, and his sudden disdain for helping her raise Ben's (Robert Scott Wilson) baby, she will become alarmed when she notes that Thomas has a fever and is extremely quiet-and in her panic she will race him to te hospital to get checked out and make sure everything is okay.

Abigail will be more concerned about her son's health than others however because Thomas was born under extremely traumatic conditions. She went into labor prematurely, after Ben kidnapped her and held her captive when she realized he was the Necktie Killer. After she gave birth, and had showed up to rescue her, Ben tried to kill them both and escaped with Thomas. His psychosis suddenly caused him to revert to a child's state of mind after he was captured however-without the baby in tow. Thomas had been left alone without food or his mother's care for a few hours before he was found.
