New Characters To Threaten Frank In Season 4?

The storylines of House of Cards are always kept under tight lock and key until the release of every season, but that has never stopped pop culture websites from theorizing and speculating about what lies ahead, and sometimes some of these rumors actually hit the nail on the head.

In the year 2015, here are the most exciting rumors that surfaced.

Hillary Clinton Thinks House of Cards Is 'Bad TV'?

1. Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) has an affair with Neve Campbell's character: While we do know that Campbell will be a player at Capitol Hill, nothing is known about her dynamic with Frank (Kevin Spacey) and if she will be an ally or an enemy. In speculating what role Campbell could play in the next chapter we got wondering is she might evoke shades of Zoe Barnes (Kate Mara) and end up in a caustic relationship with Frank -- posing as something of a threat and an ally.

2. Frank and Claire (Robin Wright) to adopt a child: Essentially to keep up the farce of marriage as Frank will be campaigning for re-election. So far we have been led to believe that the couple has officially parted ways and Claire will actually trun on Frank in the next chapter, probably be his most dangerous enemy. But aVineReport post reiterates the rumors that the couple might actualy adopt a child in the upcoming season. As the speculation swirls, the couple will somehow pick up the pieces and even if they can't stand each other will need to go the extra mile to keep the farce of a happy family going by adopting a child.

3. Frank will get killed off in this chapter: The BBC series on which Netflix's House of Cards is based on lasted only three seasons and Frank was killed off in the last chapter. Although the Netflix adaptation has strayed quite far from the original series, some major plot points need to be addressed. The main one being will Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) meet a grisly death as he has often executed for his enemies and thorns in his path. In season 4 we reckon he might way more susceptible as his greatest strength has left his side. Also, Claire (Robin Wright) left with a great degree of vengefulness and hatred toward Frank in the conclusion on season 3.

4. Season 4 to adopt elements of the 2016 presidential elections: As Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) will also be campaigning for reelection, it only makes sense to somehow align the storyline with the real life action going on with the elections. As Frank fights for his second term as president, there will be a real life parallel election with Hillary Clinton as a forerunner. There are many overlaps which are hard to ignore. Not only that Frank will be fighting for an election but there is a woman who will be challenging him. Claire Underwood (Robin Wright) might also play impediment in his win.

5. Frank's old enemies set to come back for his downfall: A report hints at the possibility of his old enemies returning to engineer his downfall, and some of them will be doubly charged with this motive. The report specifically cites Remy Danton (Mahershala Ali) and Jackie Sharp (Molly Parker) as pairing up to weaken Frank's poise.

There are many doubts about is Frank will be able to stand resilient through the next chapter after the grave hit he took in season 3 with his greatest supporter, Claire (Robin Wright), leaving him. Meanwhile, there has also been speculation of new characters entering the arena to take Frank down. Two new additions to the cast of House of Cards had us wondering if they will help and antagonize Frank some more. One of the major stars being brought on board for the next chapter is Neve Campbell. Deadline had hinted that Cambell's character might rival Frank in season 4. This fits in with another spoiler relating to a younger power couple being introduced in the Netflix political drama. Could Campbell's character be one half of this power couple?

Season 4 will premier March 4 on Neftlix.
