“I Love Jenni” Final Season to Air After Jenni Rivera's Death April 24; 'We Love Jenni'
Fans will get to honor the memory of Jenni Rivera, as the TV network Mun2 prepares to air the third and final season of I Love Jenni on April 24th at 9pm.
The show will feature footage of Rivera’s hectic life on tour leading up to the crash and pick up with her family trying to deal with the singer’s sudden death. A documentary featuring celebrities talking about Rivera’s life will be shown prior to the season debut. The hour-long special of We Love Jenni will air on April 7, with appearances from Mexican singer Thalia, rapper Snoop Dogg, and popular Mexican stars like Tucanes de Tijuana.
The singer died in December 2012, when the small aircraft she was traveling in went down in Northern Mexico. The plane crashed with other members of her crew on board, including publicist Arturo Rivera, makeup artist Jacobo Yebale, attorney Mario Macias Pacheco, and hair stylist Jorge Armando “Gigi” Sanchez Vasquez; along with the 78-year-old pilot and co-pilot.
Rivera, who was 43, was traveling to Toluca for an appearance on The Voice Mexico.
The Rivera family filed a lawsuit against her corporation and the owners of Learjet in January. The family alleged that the 43-year-old plane was unsafe and the pilots were unqualified to fly the aircraft. Paul Kiesel, the attorney, said the family just wants answers.
“We are trying to unravel the mystery of how this came to be. Who selected this plane, what condition was this plane in and how did these pilots get behind the stick of this aircraft?” he questioned. “We want to provide answers for my clients and for the community mourning these brilliant lives.”
American-born Rivera was a native of Long Beach, California. The Grammy nominated singer sold 15 million records in her career and won several awards in her career. The “Queen of Banda” as she was affectionately called by fans was a mother to five children.
