'Agents Of SHIELD' Season 3: Can Simmons Handle Fallout From Lash's Attack? Midseason Premiere Teasers [VIDEO]
The Agents of SHIELD think they left the midseason finale triumphant, but their consciences will soon say otherwise.
Ward (Brett Dalton), Will (Dillon Casey), and a host of Inhumans lost their lives during the aptly titled "Maveth," and those responsible for their deaths will be plagued by guilt when SHIELD returns this March. Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge), who never actually pulled the trigger on her victims, will feel the sting of loss most keenly.
"Coulson (Clark Gregg) will be struggling with the aftermath of killing Ward and questioning his own morality," TV Guide teased. "Simmons will also blame herself for putting trust in Andrew (Blair Underwood), only for him to slaughter all the Inhumans in the compound."
Lash, who will return this spring, saved Simmons from Hydra but his valiant act was quickly turned tainted as he around and killed Malick's slumbering Inhuman army. This March, the entire team will be forced to face their own humanity.
"What does it mean to all these people when they have to live with their actions? Are they capable of the things their enemies are capable of?" executive producer Jed Whedon said, according to Entertainment Weekly. "We've answered some of those questions, but we'll continue asking them."
