Xander Berkeley, who is previously known for his work on 24, has officially been added to the cast as Gregory, who, along with Negan, spells bad news for Rick's (Andrew Lincoln) gang.
Morgan & Carol's Conflict 'Not Over'
Whereas Negan is a threat to Glenn (Steven Yuen), because the character in the comics is responsible for his death by bludgeoning him with a studded baseball bat named Lucille, Gregory, who is the leader of the Hilltop Colony, is more nightmarish for Rick and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) in particular.
However, what makes Gregory an even bigger issue for the group is how he deals with them, which includes selling them out to Negan and putting them all in danger, because of his cowardly nature and intention to ensure his safety above all else. He also, after being demoted at Hilltop from the leader to a citizen in favor of Maggie, tries to kill her by poisoning her, and also makes a plan to try and kill Carl (Chandler Riggs).
It is unknown how much of this will make it into the show in either the second half of season 6, or during the 7th season, as many are wondering if Glenn will be indeed killed by Negan after the character's apparent death during the beginning of season 6. He was later revealed to still be alive.
The Walking Dead returns Sunday, Feb. 14 at 9 p.m. on AMC.
