A new game called Pocket Mortys is being released on Jan. 14 by Adult Swim. It will be a free mobile app presumably available for both iOS and Android, with design and gameplay that looks very similar to the Pokemon games.
In the GIF posted on Twitter by Adult Swim Games, the villainous-looking blob Bluu is seen facing off against Rick, and then Morty faces off against Scruffy Morty. The design looks nearly identical to Pokemon's famous showdowns.
Rick and Morty co-creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon previously spoke about wanting to release a Minecraft-style video game.

"I would like to see a marriage between Minecraft as the lo-fi thing in exchange for this amazing--the creation of the world as you walk into it. Blending that technology," Harmon suggested. "You have a portal gun and you can shoot it--you can go to really specific dimensions but you can also just go to random ones that are put together."
Harmon also told Roiland: "I wanted to pitch you--season 3, if we were to do season 3, the one complicated episode I'd want to do is somehow we come up with a sci-fi reason why they actually go into a Bethesda-style RPG. . . and actually render them as ... real time rendered 3D."
Rick and Morty season 3 does not have a set release date on Adult Swim.
