'Doctor Who' Season 10: It's The Sherlock Crossover You've Been Waiting For! But There's A Twist
Paul McGann's short-lived iteration of the famed Time Lord has left fans begging for his return since 1996. While the subject of numerous novels and audio tapes, the Eighth Doctor has appeared once since the '90s, and that was in 2013's "Night of the Doctor" (see video below). Writers should be aware, however, that McGann is more than willing to return to the TARDIS.
"I don't mind doing a little bit every now and again and stealing all the glory! It's quite fun," McGann told Digital Spy. "You're coming in at the 89th minute and scoring the winning penalty - yeah, I'll do that."

It always takes a major hoopla for any of the Doctors to cross paths - just look at the events surrounding "Day of the Doctor" - so chances of seeing Eight and Twelve (Peter Capaldi) team up are probably rather slim. Nevertheless, McGann is still happy just to be part of the Whoverse.
"I really enjoy it. It's a good family to be part of - and it's still going places," McGann said. "It's a lovely thing to be associated with."
Doctor Who w ill return to the BBC and BBC America later this year.
