We're about to have a new Gaston in our lives in an upcoming episode of ABC's Once Upon a Time.

How Emilie de Ravin's Pregnancy May Affect Things On 'Once Upon A Time'

Wes Brown (True Blood) has been cast as Gaston, the villainous suitor to Belle (Emilie de Ravin) from the Disney classic Beauty and the Beast, reports Variety. The specific episode Gaston will appear in is unclear, but the report states that his scenes are set before Belle met Rumple (Robert Carlyle).

The casting of Brown may be confusing to longtime Once Upon a Time fans, considering Gaston has already appeared once in the series. Gaston was featured in the season 1 episode Skin Deep, in which he was involved in flashback with Belle and Rumple. At that time, he was played by Sage Brocklebank. It is currently unknown why Brocklebank isn't reprising his role.

Will Peter Pan's Return To 'Once Upon a Time' Cast Him In 'A Different Light'?

Fans may recall that Rumple turned Gaston into a rose in the episode, so the upcoming flashback will presumably be chronologically before this twist of fate.

Gaston's return falls in line with the plan for many of the show's past villains to show up in the second half of the season. Characters like Cora (Barbara Hershey), Peter Pan (Robbie Kay), Sidney Glass (Giancarlo Esposito) and Cruella de Vil (Victoria Smurfit). Our heroes will be searching the Underworld for Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) to bring him back to the world of the living.

Once Upon a Time season 5 returns for its second half Sunday, March 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
