Survivor fans worried about the longevity of the show as it moves forward can probably breathe easy this week.

'Survivor' Host Jeff Probst Teases Special 'Super Idol' For Next Season

Glenn Geller, the new CBS president of entertainment, spoke with critics at the TCA press tour this week and offered what should be encouraging words to Survivor viewers. As Geller was introducing himself, he spoke on his love of both Survivor and CBS's other cutthroat reality show, Big Brother.

"A little bit about who I am. I'm a big fan of reality, both as a viewer and a programmer. Survivor and Big Brother are appointment TV for me and my husband, and I have plans for more reality at CBS," Geller said, according to RealityBlurred.

So essentially, if Geller has his way, Survivor will be on the air for a while. And with renewed interest in reality TV, CBS may even create the next big thing.

It's been an impressive run for Survivor, which ran its first season back in the summer of 2000. What was intended to be a fun summer program turned into one of the most successful staples on CBS, and the show is entering its 32nd season next month (Survivor airs two seasons per year).

And while the show might have more complications in gameplay and less emphasis on survival these days, it is coming off one of the most popular seasons ever, Cambodia.

Survivor: Kaôh Rōng - Brawn vs. Brains vs. Beauty premieres on Feb. 17 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
