Danica McKellar Divorce is Finalized: 'Wonder Years' Star Single After 3-Year Marriage to Composer Mike Verta
Danica McKellar, who starred as Winnie Cooper in the 1990's TV series "The Wonder Years," finalized her divorce with music composer Mike Verta this week.
A judge made McKellar's divorce official this week and ordered that their pre nuptial agreement signed in 2009 is still valid, according to court documents cited by TMZ.com.
The 38-year-old actress filed for divorce from Verta in June citing "irreconcilable differences," and later released a statement saying she was "saddened" by the end of her marriage.
"I am just overwhelmed by the love and support in the messages I've been receiving from all of you via Twitter and Facebook during this incredibly tough time," she wrote on her website in June.
"The end of a marriage has got to be one of the saddest events one can experience."
The couple married in 2009 and have a 2-year-old son named Draco. (See their wedding picture here.)
McKellar is best known for playing "Winnie" Cooper, the main love interest of Kevin Arnold (played by Fred Savage) on the "Wonder Years."
She also wrote the popular books "Math Doesn't Suck," "Kiss My Math" and "Hot X: Algebra Exposed."
In recent years, the actress made appearances on "How I Met Your Mother," and "The Big Bang Theory."
She will appear in Syfy's movie "Tasmanina Devils" alongside Olympic skater Apolo Ohno and Kenneth Michell from "Jericho." In the movie, McKellar and her crew are on a helicopter headed to Devil's Peak when they begin to encounter deadly creatures from an underground enclave known as "Tasmanian Devils."
