Katarina Rostova is out there somewhere, and The Blacklist's Liz Keen isn't going to rest until she's found her.

It's been a tumultuous year for Liz (Megan Boone), what with finding out her mother was a Russian spy, going on the lam, losing her badge, and becoming pregnant, but despite all the upheaval, the former agent is still intent on digging into her tangled past. For now, Katarina is the next big piece of the puzzle.

When "The Caretaker" rolls around, Liz's investigation will be barreling forward full steam ahead.

"After a State Department official is found dead in Beijing, Red (James Spader) and Liz link the murder to a secret keeper known as "The Caretaker," who maintains an impenetrable safety deposit vault for criminals. Red and Liz work with the task force to find the Caretaker and his collection of lethal and classified secrets," NBC said of episode 16. "Meanwhile, Tom (Ryan Eggold) makes a risky decision, while Liz persists on her quest to find out more about her mother."

Now that Liz is on the cusp of becoming a mother herself, finding out the truth about her own parentage is more important than ever.

"For someone who really doesn't know who her parents are and where she came from, the idea of becoming a parent feels like a great story to tell," executive producer Jon Bokenkamp told Entertainment Weekly. While many believe Katarina is dead, the series creator promised The Blacklist would explore all the options.

"The Caretaker" will air on Feb. 25.
