They may not seem like they'll be strong competitors, but the fact that Burnie Burns and Ashley Jenkins are big gamers is exactly what they think will give them a huge advantage on The Amazing Race.

Zach & Rachel Dish On 'Attributes' That Will Help Them Win

In a pre-race interview, the pair talked about their backgrounds as gamers and even revealed how that would be an advantage for them.

"I think being a gamer gives us an advantage in a couple of different ways, because games have been proven to train your mind in different ways," Ashley says. "So for strategy, for reflex, for critical thinking and problem solving...so I think having learned all that and all of those skills without thinking about it really will help us huge in the race."

Tyler & Korey Dish On Their 'Faith' In Their Friendship

She also admitted that the pair thought their ages would be an advantage as well, since they've already traveled without the help of technology--something other teams have struggled with in the past on the show.

"We're both over 30, so we've lived and traveled in a world before smartphones, before maps talked to you," Ashley says. "So yeah, it's been tough giving up technology, but in the end, it'll actually be an advantage for us."

In addition, the two don't expect too many problems to arise between them on the trip, since they're used to already being together so much.

"We've been dating for three years, and we also work together and live together," Ashley says. "So we're pretty used to each other."

The Amazing Race season 28 premieres Friday, Feb. 12 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
