'Big Bang Theory' Season 6 Spoilers: Unknown Details Surrounding Characters Revealed! (Video)
CBS's The Big Bang Theory is set to return on Thursday with what's expected to be another exciting comedy-filled episode in The Contractual Obligation Implementation.
The 18th episode of season six will feature Wolowitz, Sheldon and Leonard chatting up a class of junior high-school girls in order to convince them that there's indeed a place for women in the world of science and it's not necessarily male-dominated.
O Canada reports that the upcoming installment of the series was based on a story idea by Big Bang Theory co-creator Chuck Lorre, who was present at the show's early beginnings when the CBS commissioned a pilot episode, only for the network's upper brass to decide that they didn't fancy it very much and wanted everything altered.
Looking back on the apparent sitcom issue now, the site states that it's hard to fathom that the show had any troubles due to the millions of viewers it now satisfies on a weekly basis.
"Baby steps. There's no magic trick to sitcoms. Stuff happens. Can Archie Bunker become a better person? I don't think so. When Johnny (Galecki) and Jim (Parsons) read together, you knew it. You saw it and you though, 'Okay, we've got a show," Lorre said.
"The same thing happened with every other character. We created the characters for Simon and Kunal (Nayyar) initially, and then we remodeled the female character so that Kaley (Cuocco) could knock it out of the park," he added.
"When Simon (Helberg) and Kunal and Kaley walked into the room, I went, 'This is a gift.' There's a lot of trial and error with these things," Lorre continued.
During the week of Feb. 18, the series was runner-up just behind the Academy Awards with a whopping six million viewers, but did beat out the Oscar's red carpet pre-show by over 300,000 viewers, reports the site.
The upcoming episode of The Big Bang Theory is set to premiere at 8 p.m. EST on Thursday on the CBS network. The trailer to the upcoming show can be viewed below.
