Agent Carter's series finale could be at hand.

'Agents Of SHIELD' Season 3: Will Yo Yo Rodriguez Appear In The Midseason Premiere? 'Bounce Back' Teasers

Hayley Atwell (Peggy) has landed a plum role on one of ABC's newest pilots, and unless the network is planning on cloning her (not a bad idea, I might add), filming for two primetime shows might get a little bit hairy. Unless Agent Carter is planning on bumping production back to April - June while scaling back to 8 episodes, something's gotta give.

Atwell is set to star in Conviction, taking on the role of "the brilliant but ne'er-do-well daughter of a former President, who is blackmailed into taking a job as the head of Los Angeles' newly created Conviction Integrity Unit," according to Deadline. The CIU will be tasked with investigating cases where it appears the wrong person was convicted.

'Captain America: Civil War' Which Side Are You On [POLL]? Major Death Teasers

With Agent Carter performing poorly in the ratings despite raking in stellar reviews, there is a good chance season 3 is merely a pipe dream. If a renewal is miraculously in the offing, Entertainment Weekly reports that ABC believes there is a chance for Atwell to do both if Conviction becomes a limited series.

Fans should know more when renewals are announced in May.

Agent Carter airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET. Press PLAY below to see a preview for the series' next episode, "Life of the Party."
