First 'Twin Peaks' Teaser Is As Ominous As It Is Beautiful
Of course, there will also be many stars from the original series returning to their iconic roles. While only Kyle MacLachlan has been confirmed as returning as Special Agent Dale Cooper, it is generally known that the following actors are returning: Sherilyn Fenn (who plays Audrey Horne), Sheryl Lee (Laura Palmer/Maddy Ferguson), Mädchen Amick (Shelly Johnson), Dana Ashbrook (Bobby Briggs), Peggy Lipton (Norma Jennings), Michael Horse (Tommy "Hawk" Hill), Ray Wise (Leland Palmer), Grace Zabriskie (Sarah Palmer) and many more.
Very little has been revealed about the actual plot of Twin Peaks' revival season. The series is expected to debut on Showtime in early 2017, though a specific premiere date has not yet been announced.
Twin Peaks notably ended on a cliffhanger in the spring of 1991, so this revival season may answer the many questions presented both in the season 2 finale and the series as a whole.
