It's a question that has been plaguing Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson) since they reunited, and the X-Files season finale will bring the mystery to the fore. When "My Struggle II" hits the air, the agents my come just that much closer to filling in the blanks of William's narrative.

"It's the answer to the question posed by the first part of the two-parter [the season premiere]. But as an answer, it only goes so far to the edge of the cliff," series creator Chris Carter told Entertainment Weekly. "It is the predicament of their lives brought into the most frightening spotlight that I could imagine. The predicament of: Where is their child?"

The Feb. 22 episode will signal of the of X-Files brief revival. While fans are clamoring for more episodes, it is unknown what threads will be left hanging when Mulder and Scully's work with Tad O'Malley (Joel McHale) pits them against powerful enemies.

"A widespread panic begins as people all over the country suddenly start falling gravely ill, and Scully must look within to try and find a cure," Fox teased. "Meanwhile, Mulder confronts the man whom he believes to be behind it all, but another figure from Mulder and Scully's past may prove to be the key to their salvation."
