'Survivor' 2016 Cast: Why Did First Vote Result In Tie Between Alecia & Darnell? [VIDEO]
So what went down with the tie vote in last night's Survivor: Kaoh Rong premiere?
Will Alecia Holden Invoke 'Chaos Kass' On 'Survivor'?
The premiere of Survivor: Kaoh Rong featured a first in the show's history. The Brawn tribe went to Tribal Council and caused the first ever tie vote in a premiere episode. Three players voted for Alecia Holden while three voted for Darnell Hamilton.
But on the re-vote, Darnell wound up going home when Cydney Gillon, Jennifer Lanzetti, Kyle Jason and Scot Pollard all voted him out.

Survivor host Jeff Probst spoke with Entertainment Weekly after the episode about why the votes went down like this.
"My hunch is they were pretty sure it was going to be Darnell but they were a bit concerned about an idol so they split the vote," Probst said. "But what's been interesting about Tribal the past several years is that people do change their mind at Tribal, so Darnell and Alecia were smart to fight to stay in because you really never do know what might happen. And we will see some more of that this season. Nobody is ever totally safe at tribal until a torch is snuffed."
As for why the tribe decided to vote out Darnell instead of Alecia (who was shown in a decidedly more negative light), Darnell told Xfinity this morning that it was essentially a gameplay decision.
"I didn't really know until Jason posted a tweet this morning that said I was likable. I figured they were really worried about me," he said. "A lot of people liked me, especially the girls. There was talk of an all-girl alliance. It was more of, let's get rid of Darnell because he's holding this alliance together."
It remains to be seen if the Brawn tribe made the right decision in the long run.
Survivor: Kaoh Rong - Brawn vs. Brains vs. Beauty airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
