Fans are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the worst villain in The Walking Dead's history, and while they'll still need to wait until the season 6 finale to meet Negan onscreen, the way they meet him could be surprising.

Rick and Daryl's Supply Run Takes An Unexpected Turn

The comic book character is known for his more colorful language, something that is expected to be difficult to work into the show since there are more filters in store on a cable channel like AMC than in a comic book. However, the show's creators and producers have an idea of how to work through the situation.

Among the ways they may be considering to get around it will include filming two different versions of his entrance.

Rick and Michonne Get Closer

"That would be a very good guess," Greg Nicotero told Entertainment Weekly. "We've talked about that. Even back when Michael Cudlitz was cast as Abraham we were like, 'Damn, how are we going to deal with Abraham's dialogue?" And I think Gimple went, 'Yeah, Abrahama's dialogue is fine. It's Negan that we're going to have problems with because every other word of Negan's is f**k.'"

"There is a rhythm to it that even in some of the takes that we did," he continued. "What I affectionately call the 'f**k takes' have a completely different rhythm to them a completely different feel. So while editing it, I was very careful to make sure that I preserved a lot of the performance without getting myself into trouble with the profanity."

The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on AMC.
