Once Upon a Time co-creator Edward Kitsis recently revealed to Entertainment Weekly how the upcoming second half of season 5 will be similar to season 1.

"The second half is going to be very similar to the first season in that we're going to see Storybrooke as a place of people with unfinished business," Kitsis noted. "We have to wonder if we can't help them find their happy endings even in the afterlife."

'Once Upon a Time' Star Josh Dallas Talks The Upcoming Underworld Arc

Along with this unfinished business theme, there will be some real darkness in the second half of the season, as previewed by Sean Maguire (who plays Robin Hood) in a new TVLine interview.

"We're going to the Underworld, so I don't expect much good stuff is going to happen! But as to where it's going to lead [for Robin], I can't say," he said. "There are obstacles everywhere - a lot of bad people from the past are coming back and they are not too happy with our heroes. If Once Upon a Time was the Star Wars franchise, this would be Empire Strikes Back. It's going to get dark, it's going to be scary, and there will be surprises."

The upcoming arc centers on our heroes walking through the Underworld to get Hook (Colin O'Donoghue). Whether all of them will come out alive remains to be seen.

Once Upon a Time returns for the second half of season 5 on Sunday, March 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
