"I think in the larger story, what she did was really still a testament to her friendship and loyalty to Scully," Gish told TV Line. "And maybe perhaps in upcoming episodes, which it seems like we'll be doing, that will be revealed, as to why."

Does that mean an 11th season is in the cards? Based on rating, we'd say it's a definite possibility. According to series creator Chris Carter, you could probably bet the farm on it.

I can tell you this: Fox owns this show. I can't imagine, with the ratings that we've got and the way we ended this season, that there won't be more X-Files," Carter told TV Line.

And after that cliff hanger, Fox would probably have legions of X-Files diehards banging at their doors if Scully and Mulder's latest adventure never received a conclusion.
