Over the course of the past four seasons, CW's Vampire Diaries has evolved in terms of its pairings.

Whether it's an old conventional couple such as Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) or the budding romance over time between Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Rebekah (Claire Holt), the franchise's pairings have surely evolved.

However, Carter reported that the Stefan and Rebekah duo is the strongest one due to it being built over time, as there has been some clear-cut chemistry over the past few years.

From the moment the two characters laid eyes on one another, Stefan had a different level of energy around her that wasn't quite apparent in his previous relationship with Elena, which the TV site stated has given them a "no-holds barred sort of love affair ... at least until some other complications got in the way."

The program will return on Thursday from a three-week break and viewers will see Stefan and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) force Elena back into her general high-school routine, but it doesn't appear that the situation surrounding it is normal. CW revealed that Caroline (Candice Accola) is "pleasantly surprised" when Elena makes the decision to suit up in her old cheerleading attire, which goes hand in hand with the episodes title: Bring It On.

When Elena's behavior proves dangerous, "it all goes down from there." Elena puts on a "wild party" and ends up getting into an "ugly fight."

It's also reported that the Salvatore brothers may be trading partners yet again, as Damon is said to spend the entire episode working alongside Rebekah in order to continue his hunt for the cure. Photos from set indicate that things get serious with Damon having blood on his face. Klaus and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkim) will be in the episode as well.

The Vampire Diaries will air Bring It On at 8 p.m. EST on Thursday, March 14. A teaser of the episode can be viewed below.
