The second half of season five of AMC's hit series Breaking Bad is set to make its return in the summer for its final run.

The less than ideal scenario surely leaves fans with two things: one of the greatest TV programs in recent years will be over, and questions and cliffhangers from the past will be resolved.

While all the details on how Breaking Bad ultimately ends up have yet to be revealed, the AMC network did release a new on-set footage for the remaining episodes.

"This is the end, my friend. It's a roller coaster ride to hell," said Bryan Cranston, who plays the part of Walter White.

Hints have also indicated that Walt's DEA brother-in-law Hank (Dean Norris), who is usually just one step behind him, may be in the midst of discovering Walt's secret identity.

In response to Hank's skillful investigative work, Cranston states the following in defense of his character:

"He doesn't know how to handle me. He doesn't even know where to come from."

Many fans are surely wondering if Hank will make it to the end of the show's run alive. While they'll have to wait and see just how his character unfolds, Walt may actually be in for something far more detrimental.

Walt has done some pretty bad things throughout the series. However, as one looks back to the series' pilot episode and remembers why he began cooking up meth in the first place, his intentions were seemingly well.

Walt wanted nothing more than to make a good chunk of cash to leave behind for his family to put them in a good financial position, as he initially assumed he would die from his diagnosed cancer.

However, he found himself delving further into the drug business and his ego started to grow out of control along with his changing motives.

At the 2013 Academy Awards, Cranston spoke to The Associated Press about the end of Breaking Bad and the fate of his Walt character.

"There's nothing good, there's not going to be redemption. It's going downhill - it's ugly."

Breaking Bad is set to make its return on Sunday, July 14 with The Decision.
