The show is trying to keep as few plot points secret as possible ahead of season six, but a newcomer to the Game of Thrones cast may have just given away that one presumed dead character is still very much alive on the show.

HBO Not Releasing Screeners Of New Season Of 'GOT'

In an interview with BBC Breakfast, Ian McShane, who is slated to appear in just one episode in the new season, dropped a huge hint about who his character may be, confirming he plays a part in a beloved character who is believed to be dead being brought back to life--but it most likely is not Jon Snow.

"My character is an ex-warrior who has become a peacenik," he said during the interview. "So I have this group of peaceful...sort of a cult, a peaceful tribe. I bring back a much-loved character who everything thinks is dead."

What Character Could Be Involved In New Twist In George R.R. Martin's Books?

McShane didn't reveal anything else, but his comment has fueled a popular theory about the real fate of Sandor Clegane, aka The Hound (Rory McCann).

According to Slash Film, in the George R.R. Martin's books, Brienne and Podrick stumble across a community run by "The Elder Brother," whose community of monks have all taken a vow of silence--with one in particular who seems to emulate The Hound, with a similar stature, a walk that conveys recovery from a major injury, and a major aversion to knights. A popular fan theory (which hasn't yet been confirmed in the books) is that The Elder Brother found the Hound when he was dying, saved his life, and gave him a second chance by making him one of his monks.

Should that be exactly how the storyline plays out, The Hound wouldn't be the only Clegane brother who was brought back to life. His older brother, Gregor Clegane, also known as the Mountain, was brought back to life by Qyburn (Anton Lesser) in the season five finale of the show, and was sworn to an oath of silence until he helped Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) vanquish all of her enemies.

Game of Thrones season 6 premieres April 24 at 9 p.m. on HBO.
