Fans are eagerly awaiting the return of Michael Easton on their TV screens on General Hospital, and they'll get to see him sooner than anticipated!

According to reports, Easton will be back on screen on March 18, and though he won't be returning as either of his alter egos (so Silas Clay isn't coming back), fans should be excited to see him-though he isn't spilling details about what his new role will be.

However, he does admit that after his shocking ouster last summer (his character was murdered in an unexpected twist), he was hesitant to come back.

"I was completely caught off guard and very leery of anything coming [out of a possible return]" he said. "But [executive producer Frank Valentini] said, 'At least have a conversation with the new writers.' It's always nice to start with new writers because it's their show, their vision, and if they have good one, at least you're off to a good start."

However, after he learned that new writers Jean Passanante and Shelly Altman had an entirely new vision for Easton-and they seemed to want to make the fact that he was ousted so suddenly right.

"I got the sense they wanted to make something right," he said. "And I sort of felt there was some unfinished business there. It was all so abrupt, how it all came to an end, so it kind of got me on that level, the idea that we would all try to work together to make something right and make something good for the show."

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
