'Game of Thrones' Season 6: 5 Things We Learned About The New Season From First Official TRAILER [WATCH]
It's been a long year but finally, the first real glimpse into the upcoming season of Game of Thrones has arrived with the first official trailer, and some of the juiciest questions fans have been asking appear to have finally been partially answered.
Kir Harington Finally Admits Jon Snow's Return
While others were answered through released photos and interviews with show creators—yes, Sansa survived her jump from the tower, and no, Stannis did not miraculously survive Brienne's slicing a sword through his head—some of the other big questions seemed to have finally been addressed.
Here are five things we picked up on in the trailer:
Ian McShane Drops A Huge Hint About His Guest Arc
Jon Snow Is Definitely Not Dead....Yet

He was stabbed by his fellow members of the Night's Watch and it's been said several times that he is dead...but a big hint that Jon Snow may be coming back is dropped in the trailer. Not only has his body not been carried off and burned (which is custom for the fate of dead bodies in Westeros), but it is with, of all people, the Red Witch herself Melisandre, and Davos. And in one scene, we see Melisandre putting her hand over his eyes—a potentially strong hint she will try to bring him back to life, possibly as someone else.
The Tower of Joy Sequence Is Definitely Happening

Blink and you miss it, but there definitely some Stark banners shown in the trailer, but there's not really any Starks left to raise an army. Bran is beyond the wall, Arya is in Braavos and blind, Sansa is back in Winterfell but still likely being held captive by her marriage to Ramsay Bolton, and Rickon is...well...MIA, but definitely too young to have started a resurrected Stark war. When the fact that a young Ned Stark was said to be featured at some point this season is factored in...it's pretty obvious that a certain Tower of Joy sequence will be seen on screen. And that could lead to some big answers about a very popular fan theory concerning Jon Snow's parentage.
The Lannisters Are Out for More Blood Than Ever Before

Cersei was humiliated by the Faith Militant, and Jamie was successful in getting Myrcella back from Dorne—for her to only die by poisoning on the ship as they left port, thanks to Elaria. Now? They'll be more blood-thirsty than ever for revenge—and having a resurrected Mountain on their side will probably help.

As if being armed and given the power they were in season five wasn't enough, the Sparrow and the rest of the militant are still pretty thirsty for control. And it seems they are still eager to get it—even if that means getting violent.
Bran's Return Could Be Short-Lived

Bran was MIA for the entire fifth season of the show, but he's back now, grown up, STANDING, and training with the three-eyed raven. But he could be in danger since he's living in the land of the white Walkers—especially when the very king of the undead who brought all the dead from Hardhome back as new members of his army seems to come into contact with him.
