'Walking Dead' Season 3 Spoilers: Footage Reveals Merle as One of Two Deaths Reported? (Video)
AMC's The Walking Dead will make its return on Sunday with a brand new episode titled This Sorrowful Life.
To the dismay of fans, it will be the second to last installment until the show goes on hiatus once again. Season four begins in October. AMC posted the following official synopsis for the upcoming 15th episode:
"Rick and the others learn that if they want a truce with the Governor, they must make a sacrifice."
While the fans surely know that The Governor has vengeance against Michonne (Danai Gurira) on his mind, Rick's (Andrew Lincoln) group will most likely not be giving her up, which WetPaint speculated could mean trouble for Merle (Michael Rooker).
Rumors have been running ramped that two major deaths will be occurring before the season comes to a close. According to spoiler photos posted in a YouTube video, it appears as though Merle may be turning into a walker very soon. Dallas Roberts (Milton) recently joined the cast of Unforgettable, which means he's a strong possibility to die as well.
Lincoln sat down with MTV on March 11 to give fans some input about the rest of season three.
"The final few episodes ... well, fifteen is epic and incredibly emotional. It's one of my favorite episodes, as is sixteen," he said. "I won't be amiss in saying that not everyone gets out alive. Of course - we are The Walking Dead, after all! [Laughs] And it's season three!"
Early in February, soon to be departing and outgoing showrunner Glen Mazzara talked about the ending of season three to The Wrap:
"The season finale will set up season four, but there'll be a satisfying end to this season. I don't think it's fair to fans to leave too much of a cliffhanger. ... We're going to look for some time of resolution that satisfies viewers at the end of the 16-episode run but also leaves questions so people are excited to come back for season 4."
The Walking Dead will air This Sorrowful Life at 9 p.m. EDT on Sunday, March 24, on AMC. A sneak peek of the upcoming episode can be viewed below.
