Supernatural's Sam and Dean better stock up on silver bullets before episode 17.

The Winchester boys have had their fair share of run ins with werewolves, but in "Red Meat," the hunters will quickly become the hunted. Outnumbered and injured, the brothers will be blindsided is what looks to be the series' most dangerous lycanthropic adventure.

"Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) battle a pair of werewolves who have captured two victims. Just as the brothers are about to win, one of the werewolves shoots Sam," The CW teased. "Dean gets his brother and the victims out of the house but learns a pack of werewolves are hot on their tail, hoping to kill them all."

Clearly Garth and Kate aren't around to lend out heroes a hand.

It appears the back half of the season is bulking up on monster-of-the-week episodes. Although, as we learned from "Thin Lizzie" and "Love Hurts," Sam and Dean's little forays back to the salt-and-burn basics won't keep the series from meting out tidbits about the Darkness and Lucifer.

Supernatural is currently on a short break, but the series will return on March 23 with "Safe House" (see preview below). "Red Meat" will air on March 30.

Catch Supernatural Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
