He's been searching for the truth about his past for some time, but now that John (Drake Hogestyn) will meet his father, he is in for a huge shock about what the man who fathered him is really like on Days of Our Lives.

After meeting his mother, he was told that his father had died as a war hero. Now, after he is kidnapped by some thugs, he will learn that his father is actually very much alive—and is the same person who has orchestrated his being held captive now.

John will learn that his father went underground some time ago, and that he has a very specific goal and purpose now, which explains why he came to Salem and has kidnapped the same son he shipped off to Winterthorne when he was a kid. He is actually the one the evil Deimos (Vincent Irizzary) is working for to steal the miracle serum from Victor (John Aniston), which save Caroline's (Peggy McCay) life.

Now, even though he has the formula for the serum, he won't get in enough time to save himself in the same way Caroline was saved, and in order to make sure he can survive, he will inform his son he is here for his blood, which can be the only way to save him. However, John will likely refuse to help him after he realizes that he is one of the bad guys. Unfortunately, that could only lead to more harsh consequences.

While Marlena (Deirdre Hall) and Ari were let go, they aren't the only loved ones John is tied to. And if he refuses to cooperate with his father, new measures could be taken—which may affect his other children, including Brady (Eric Martsolf), Belle (Martha Madison) and Paul (Christopher Sean).

Days of Our Lives airs Monday-Friday at 1 p.m. on NBC.
