Chris Noth has landed his first role since it was revealed that this season will be the last of The Good Wife.

Glee's Matthew Morrison Joins Cast For Season 7

According to a Deadline report, Noth, who plays Peter Florrick on The Good Wife, has signed on to do a new show, Tyrant, which will premiere on FX this year. The report describes Noth's part as "Gen. William Cogswell, an American general who was summarily transferred out of Abbudin and returns to that country when Bassam "Barry" Al-Fayeed (Adam Rayner) assumes the provisional presidency. Although he initially offers American support, Cogswell will rise to power as his romantic history with Leila (Moran Atias) reignites, and as his apparent (and hidden) idiosyncrasies are revealed."

There has been no news about where the other main cast members of the show will be seen next.

Here's the official synopsis for the next episode of The Good Wife, entitled 'Shoot':

"In a defamation suit over a billboard he put up describing a gun store owner as a murderer. Also, a romantic rendezvous between Alicia and Jason is interrupted when Alicia learns that Grace is being accused of plagiarizing her college entrance essay."

The episode will air on March 20.
