It looks like Prince William and Kate Middleton do read the gossip blogs after all.

Apparently, the Prince himself is hitting back at haters who have called the royal couple "lazy" and spending too much of the royal money on lavish trips and expensive gifts.

The father-of-two had something to say to his critics after several recent reports accused him that he's not working enough, unlike his brother Prince Harry or even his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, according to People Magazine on Wednesday. What's more, they also think he's not listening to good advice, making him rather tone-deaf on the issue, too.

During an interview with ITV on Tuesday, the royal said criticism in the British press "is part of the job."

Still, that statement isn't sitting well with his critics, who say he needs to get up and finally do something for the country, considering that he will one day be King of England.

Some comments include, "They are comparing him to his 94-year-old grandfather--in the past year! Holy cow, Prince Philip needs to bottle up his energy and sell it," along with, "The palace said each charity last 30 mins, I don't see how they can't do three to four a week, it will stop everyone complaining."

Another fan did manage to defend the Prince by saying, "He's right, you just are never going to please anyone in that role. It's seems pointless to compare William's schedule with the Queen's or Prince Phillip's. As the monarch and the consort, they of course have many, many more required duties. And, they have 4 active children available to pick up appointments as necessary."
