'Days of Our Lives' (DOOL) Spoilers: Joey Makes A Startling Confession [PHOTO]
He was overcome with anger and feelings of betrayal and did the unthinkable as a result, but Joey (James Lastovic) will no longer go through with a plan to let his father take the fall for his crime on Days of Our Lives.
After not only dealing with the fact that Ava (Tamara Braun) did not love him back, learning she blackmailed Steve (Stephen Nichols) into sleeping with her, and realizing she had kidnapped Kayla (Mary Beth Evans), Joey had enough of the schemes she was pulling on his family and sneaked into her hospital room to suffocate her. He wound up succeeding and became guilty of murder—but Steve saw what his son had done and quickly covered for him.
However, the plan to prove that Ava was obsessed with destroying their family isn't enough to get the charges against Steve off, and overcome now with guilt that his father could suffer in prison for a crime he didn't commit is eating Joey alive. As a result, he has decided to go against his parents' wishes and confess to the murder.
He will seek Roman (Josh Charles) out at the police station and admit to everything, though even with his honesty, he may not be able to save his father entirely. Even if Roman does decide to bring charges up against his nephew, his parents will still face consequences as well because of the cover-up. And if they are both brought up on charges of being accessories after the fact, it could bring the entire family down as a result.
Should that be the case, Joey's not only murdering Ava but confessing to it afterwards will accomplish exactly what she set out to do upon returning to town and meddling in their lives. Not only did she want to get revenge on her long unrequited love for Steve, but she wanted to make sure their family paid overall. And if each one of them is brought up on separate charges related to her murder, there may be nothing that can save them anymore.
Days of Our Lives airs Monday-Friday at 1 p.m. on NBC.
