They've grown even closer than ever as they've privately schemed ways to come out ahead of Newman, especially Victor (Eric Braden), but things could start getting too close for Billy (Jason Thompson) and Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) on The Young and the Restless.

Not only did they work together to steal Passkey from Newman successfully, but Billy was the one who encouraged Phyllis to go to the police about what Victor did to her and Jack (Peter Bergman) with the Marco debacle, and he gave Victoria (Amelia Heinle) the CD of evidence that she turned over to the cops to aid in Victor's arrest. Since then, the two have continued to be close, even as Billy's relationship with Victoria failed to overcome his secret dealings against her family company.

Now, after Phyllis did Billy a favor by fixing his tuxedo pants—a moment Victoria walked in on and incorrectly assumed was something more—the two decided to check out his new place before heading to the gala to celebrate Jack's new foundation with Neil (Kristoff St. John). While there, though, they became trapped by the severe thunderstorm, which uprooted a tree and caused it to fall and block their car. While trapped, they built a fire and huddled close, drinking wine.

Now when the moment feels right, things will build up enough from the two—leading to them sharing a passionate, and very unexpected, kiss. Things will quickly be broken off, however, and they will agree to never discuss what happened again. However, the moment will also see the two being concerned when a cop shows up at Billy's door looking for him.

"Billy Abbott?" The officer asks in a preview clip for the Tuesday, March 22 episode.

However, they will quickly realize that the cop was sent to help them out and get them safely to the gala, meaning that no one suspected anything else was happening between them—and their secret is still safe, for now.

The Young and the Restless airs Monday-Friday at 12:30 p.m. on CBS.
