Jon Hamm Rumor Update: 'Mad Men' Actor Acknowledges Chatter about his Privates, VIDEO
The Mad Men season six premiere episode was shown at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
However, while the popular series' upcoming return has indeed been in the news as of late, one of its principal actors is getting even more attention for his reportedly well-endowed private.
New York Daily News reported that an AMC network insider said Jon Hamm, who plays Don Draper, had been asked to start wearing underwear on set in order to minimize the appearance of his apparently oversized man parts from beneath his trousers.
"This season takes place in the 1960s, where the pants are very tight and leave little to the imagination. Jon's impressive anatomy is so distracting that they politely insisted on underwear," the insider said.
The insider also added that certain promotional photos with the actor in them had to be Photoshopped to make Hamm's groin area less distracting, especially to the bus advertisements and large billboards.
"Imagine how distracting that would be on the side of a bus or building. When the promotional pictures came back the first few seasons, we had to work with them. Everyone was concerned about too much Christina Hendricks boob, but it's Jon that has the most to show. It's a good problem to have," the source continued.
Hamm attended the show's screening on Wednesday with co-stars January Jones, Christina Hendricks, John Slattery and Elisabeth Moss. Although Hamm's longtime partner Jennifer Westfeldt was alongside him, his on-screen bride Jessica Pare was present as well.
According to Yahoo!, the actor played it relatively cool when he was asked whether or not he'd heard about the latest rumors.
"Yes, but I don't need to talk about that," said Hamm.
Mad Men season six is set to premiere on TV at 9 p.m. EDT on April 7 on AMC.
